EYP 54 NSC MILAN 2024

The Liceo Galillei participated in the 54 National Selection Conference of the European Youth Parliament (from 26 to 30 April), hosted in Milan in the Piazza Sempione complex, consisting of the Arco della Pace and the Toll booths, built in 1806 based on a design by Luigi Cagnol and placed privileged among the places that best represent the city of Milan. The event was one of the two National Sessions organized by EYP Italy on the national territory for 2024 and saw the participation of 150 young people from all over Italy and many European delegates who discussed political, social, economic and peer issues opportunities at European level.

After taking part in the "Teambuilding" the Galilei delegates Riccardo Draisci 3A, Cristian D'Orazio 4A, Massimiliano Stefani 4E, Desire Krejner 4F, Tommaso Gregori 4F, Alessandro Marchesan 2L, participated in the "Committee Work", producing a resolution, contained in the Resolution Booklet Milan 2024, which they subsequently discussed in the General Assembly.

The European Youth Parliament constitutes a forum in which young people can express their opinions through constructive dialogue, practice independent critical thinking and develop active citizenship practices with the aim of becoming responsible citizens aware of the challenges of the future.

The General Assembly of the NSC in Milan also saw the participation of Dr. Maurizio Molinari, Head of Office at European Parliament Liaison Office in Milan, who shared with the delegates a vision of Europe that counters the atrocities of dictatorships and autocracies with the hope of democracy; a place where everyone is truly free to be themselves and to fully develop their potential and where fundamental rights are never called into question regardless of the outcome of a political election.

During the meeting, the video documentary produced by the Multimedia Center of the European Parliament for the upcoming elections was presented as a preview.
